Why Get Involved
Volunteer!
There is no better way to participate in your child’s Thacher experience than to volunteer at the school and with other Thacher parents. We become a community by working together and getting to know one another. Maria Montessori believed that a child's education is enriched by parental involvement and we see the direct benefit to children when parents attend events, help with activities and become part of the fabric of the school. Together we are united by our goal to create the best educational experience for the children of Thacher.
Volunteers do a myriad of activities at Thacher from opening car doors in the morning to sitting on the development committee to stuffing envelopes at home! Many events on our school calendar are parent-run, like the fall Thacher Pumpkin Patcher and the Nature Walk in the Blue Hills. In addition, the Thacher Parent Association runs the spring fundraiser, raising money for programs at Thacher that might otherwise be impossible to offer. The best thing about volunteering at Thacher is creating memories with your child and the families who will be your friends for many years to come. And it's fun! Find an opportunity that suits you and dive right in!
