Administration

Don Grace

Head of School

Don Grace has headed a rich variety of independent schools over a period of 30 years--each of which has sought innovative ways to help children find their element (Sir Ken Robinson’s term for the intersection of what you’re passionate about and what you’re good at). A lifelong learner about education, schools, children, and families, Don holds a B.A. in American history from Harvard College, an M.A.T. in secondary social studies from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a C.A.S. in school administration from Fairfield University. In addition, Don took graduate courses at Wheelock College oriented toward working with parents. He completed SEED diversity training as head of Park School of Buffalo (PreK-12) and, as head of Touchstone Community School (PreK-8), he collaborated with the Brazelton Touchpoints Center to create a pilot program to train parents and educators to engage in deeper listening. Don plays improvisational clarinet and enjoys school leadership as a jazz experience—he is in his element as head of Thacher. Don’s wife, Catherine O’Neill Grace, an author, is an associate editor of the Wellesley College alumni magazine.

Michael Bagiackas

Director of Education

Michael has AMI Montessori training in both the primary (Bengalore, India) and elementary (Bergamo, Italy) levels. He has a B.A. in early childhood from Capital University (Columbus, Ohio) and M.Ed. in curriculum and instruction (the emerging adolescent) from Cleveland State University. Michael has over 30 years experience in both teaching and school administration, including head of school at Hershey Montessori School (Ohio) and director of the Maplehill School (Vermont). He co-founded the Montessori School of Central Vermont where he served as trustee and head of school.

Lisa Crist

Development Coordinator

Lisa has a background in marketing, educational publishing, and non-profit development. She holds an MBA in Marketing from Boston University and BS in Literature from Earlham College. She has over 20 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, including positions with the Los Angeles Times, Harvard Business School Publishing, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and Inly School. Lisa lives with her husband, daughters, and small cadre of pets in Sharon.

Andrea Dietrich

Director of Information Technology & Social Media

Since graduating from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Andrea has worked in computer software and IT support. She joined our community prior to her daughter Carmen's Thacher graduation in 2009. Andrea enjoys riding her bike to work as well as windsurfing, crew, yoga and skiing.

Bill McCarthy

Business Manager

Bill has 18 years of experience as business manager and head/director of schools and temples, including seven years as the business manager of Cambridge Friends School. Most recently, he has served as the executive director for Temple Ohabei Shalom (Brookline). Bill holds a B.A. from Amherst College (Massachusetts), an M.Ed. in multicultural education from the University of Massachusetts (Amherst), and a Graduate Certificate in accounting from Bridgewater State College (Massachusetts).

Deba Palma

Director of Admissions

Deba joined Thacher in 2000. She holds AMI and AMS diplomas at the Children's House and Lower Elementary levels, respectively, and a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from Goddard College in Vermont.

Deba has 28 years of administrative and teaching experience in Montessori schools. Prior to her Montessori work, Deba owned and trained horses, was a legislative assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C., and a partner in a political consulting firm in Texas. She currently breeds, trains and sells AKC Labrador Retrievers. Deba’s daughter attended Montessori schools from Toddler through graduation.

Michelle Seyller

Senior Administrator

Michelle has worked at Thacher Montessori School since 2005. She holds an AMI Primary diploma from the Montessori Training Center Northeast (MTCNE), an AMS Primary diploma from Northeast Montessori Institute (NMI), a B.A. in Psychology from Northeastern University and an Ed.M. from Endicott College. She taught in Thacher’s Children’s House Program for over a decade prior to moving fulltime into administration. Michelle is the daughter of a long-time Montessori Teacher/Trainer and is passionate about Montessori Education. She and her husband, Chris, are the proud parents of Christopher, a 2013 Thacher alumnus and Dylan, a current 8th grader in Thacher’s Adolescent Program. Michelle is an avid nature lover who enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Debra Smith

Director of Communications and Marketing

With over 20 years in the field of Montessori education—as a teacher, administrator, fundraiser, and parent—Debra has experienced and viewed the Montessori approach from a variety of perspectives. She enjoys sharing the essence of this work in ways that allow children and families to find their own connections. Debra holds an AMI Elementary diploma from the Washington Montessori Institute, a B.A. in English from Wheaton College (MA), and an Ed.M. in Language and Literacy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is interested in the power and possibility that exist in the written word, and she writes poetry and guided meditations for children.

Vicky Varnum

Assistant Business Manager

Vicky grew up in Colombia, South America. She studied Psychology in Colombia, and in 2011 finished her double major degrees in Business and Psychology at Curry College in Milton. Vicky misses teaching Spanish at Thacher but loves working in the business office and being a part of the Thacher community. She has 3 children and loves biking, hiking, camping and exploring new places with her family. She also enjoys swimming, writing, photography, and making scrapbooks to preserve memories.

Clarissa Robyn

Toddler Lead Guide (Maternity Sub)

Clarissa has 14 years of teaching and administrative experience, including 11 years of experience in Montessori programs. Most recently, she was the lead primary guide at Copper Beach Montessori School and the founder of Pond View Montessori School in her home. Clarissa holds a B.A. in dance from Point Park University (Pittsburgh) and an AMS primary certification from NEMTEC (Newton).

Kathy Hall

Toddler Assistant

Kathy Hall joined Thacher in Spring 2013 as a substitute. She has over 20 years of corporate experience.

Kasia Savill

Toddler Assistant

Kasia graduated from University of Massachusetts in 2007 with a Bachelors degree in Sociology. She has been with Thacher since 2007. In her spare time time she enjoys gardening, decorating, boating and outdoor activities. Kasia loves to spend as much time as possible with her family.

Isadora Howard-Karp

Children's House A Lead Guide

Isadora has a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from Lesley University. Immediately following graduation she did her AMI training with Ohio Montessori Training Institute. Isadora worked at Thacher for one year before going back to school for American Sign Language Interpreting. Isadora has two school age children. She enjoys spending time outside, traveling in her camper and reading.

Heather Berger

Children's House B Lead Guide

Heather graduated from Bridgewater State with her B.A. in English, and soon after took a position as an Assistant in a Montessori classroom. After assisting for two years, she moved to Maryland where she completed her AMI Primary training at the Washington Montessori Institute and received her M.Ed. through Loyola University. In her spare time, Heather enjoys being outside, reading, and practicing yoga. Heather lives in Norfolk with her husband, son, and border collie.

Melissa Robinson

Children's House B Assistant

Melissa came to Thacher in 2003. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education as well as OCCS certification. Melissa enjoys spending time with her family and friends, but most of all, loves spending time with her young sons.

Carla Moore

Children's House C Lead Guide

Carla has a B.A. in Developmental Psychology from New York University and a dual Masters in mental health counseling and school counseling from Lesley University. She holds an AMS Primary diploma from Northeast Montessori Institute and an AMI Primary diploma from the Montessori Training Center Northeast. Carla has taught in several Montessori schools, one of which was in India where she spent three years developing a Montessori classroom in an international school. Carla returned to Thacher in 2005. She loves bicycling, knitting, and cooking and baking vegan food.

Donna Ryan

Children's House C Assistant

This is Donna's tenth year as children's house assistant. Prior to her employment at Thacher she worked many years in the food service industry. Donna attended Saint Joseph's College in Maine and received a B.A in history. She enjoys cooking, working out and bicycling in her free time.

Michele Burgess

Children's House D Lead Guide

Michele holds a B.A. in Fine Art & Anthropology from Montclair State University and a Post Baccalaureate Diploma from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. She has her Primary AMI Certification from the Montessori Training center of New England. Her interests include visiting museums & galleries, hiking, running and camping.

Rachael Lyon Thomas

Children's House D Assistant

Rachael holds a B.F.A. in Art Education from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Her past experience includes working with at risk teens, teaching K-3 art, and extensive customer service training through Northeastern University. Rachael is currently in the process of applying to Montessori training sites and aspires to be a lead guide in the near future. Her interests include gardening, hiking, and camping as well as jewelry making and ceramics.

Patricia Jackson

Lower Elementary A Lead Guide

Pat received both her Bachelor degree in Business Administration and Masters in Teaching degree from Simmons College (but twenty years apart.) She was a retail executive during the twenty-year interim. She began her teaching career at Old Colony Montessori in Hingham and received her Montessori training at Seacoast Center in Scituate. She holds a certificate for the 6-12 program. She joined Thacher's staff in 1993, beginning a third Lower Elementary class. She lives in Norwell with her husband, William, her daughter, Liz and her grandson, Will.

Rosemary Connor

Lower Elementary A Assistant

Rosemary began her career at Thacher in 1984. She has worked as an Elementary Assistant, in the After Care Program, and as a yoga instructor to Children's House students. She attended the University of Massachusetts and Quincy College. Rosemary was trained in children's yoga by Shakta Kaur Khalsa who was a Montessori teacher for over thirty years. She has three daughters, one son, and ten grandchildren with whom she loves to spend time. Rosemary enjoys exercising, cooking, yoga, photography and independent films.

Jill DesRoches

Lower Elementary B Lead Guide

Jill completed her Montessori training for ages 6 – 12 from the Toronto Montessori Institute. She holds an Elementary Education Degree and Masters of Education Degree. Her interests include traveling, gardening, reading and spending time with family and friends, especially her two young nieces.

Libby Riefler

Lower Elementary B Assistant

Libby Riefler is a graduate of Bard College with a B.A. in Literature and Creative Writing. She began her career in the editorial department of an independent publisher and spent three years as an administrator at an architecture firm before joining the After School Care program at Thacher. She is happy to be settled in the Lower Elementary B classroom. Outside of Thacher, Libby spends time horse back riding, writing, enjoying nature, and working on art projects.

Stephen Gay

Lower Elementary C Lead Guide

Stephen was born and raised in Liberia, West Africa. He has been an elementary teacher most of his professional life. Stephen graduated from UMass, Amherst in 1985 with a certification in Early Childhood Education, K – 3. He discovered Montessori in 1999 teaching at the Children’s House level in Springfield, Massachusetts where he wrote the school song. After moving to Chicago for five years he completed his Lower Elementary Montessori Certificate. Stephen’s special interests include nature studies, gardening, international studies, music and drama.

Kristin Drozek

Lower Elementary C Assistant

Kristin has a Bachelor's Degree from Stonehill College and her AMS certification at the Children's House level. She enjoys painting, baking and spending every moment with her sons, family and friends.

Sarah Krippenstapel

Upper Elementary A Lead Guide

Sarah has a degree in studio art with a minor in literature from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College. Following college, she discovered Montessori education while working for the school her niece attended. Sarah first pursued AMI Primary training as a foundation in Montessori philosophy and then took AMI Elementary training. She has been a lead teacher for over ten years, in classes with children ranging from two to twelve years old.

Asha Park-Carter

Upper Elementary A Assistant

Asha is a graduate of Smith College, having majored in Study of Women and Gender and minored in Education. She has a Masters in Education from University of Massachusetts Boston and a Primary diploma from Montessori Northwest. She has over five years of teaching experience in Boston Public Schools, where she taught special education and inclusion with primary aged children. Asha is doing her elementary Montessori training at Montessori Northwest over three summers. She loves to play frisbee, bike, hike, camp with her dog, and curl up with a good book over a cup of chai tea.

Amy Smith

Upper Elementary B Lead Guide

Amy has been with Thacher since 2008. She received her BA in Psycho-biology from Wellesley College in 1994. After graduation Amy moved about the country finally settling in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Upon her return to the Boston area Amy began her Montessori training and graduated with an AMI Elementary level diploma from the Montessori Training Center of New England in Hartford CT. Amy spends her free time with her three elementary-aged children playing dominos and baking.

Sasha Moraski

Upper Elementary B Assistant

Sasha graduated from Hampshire College in 2015, where she studied Art Education and Photography. She joined the Thacher team in 2015 as a substitute, and has newly taken the role as Upper Elementary B’s Assistant. Sasha has over 4 years experience in Art Education with various age groups. Outside of teaching, her interests include rock climbing, photography, drawing, and spending time with her family.

Adam Percy

Adolescent Program Co-Lead Guide

Adam Percy
Adam graduated from Vermont's Saint Michael's College in 2007, with a B.A. in Political Science. After college Adam spent 2007-2009 as an Americorps volunteer, working with City Year Boston and Playworks Boston. Adam came to Thacher in 2009, teaching Humanities in the AP. He completed his NAMTA Adolescent Training in the Summer of 2010. Adam spends his summers as an activity head at summer camp. In his free time he enjoys playing soccer, cooking, and going for walks through the Arnold Arboretum. He currently lives in Roslindale.

Carolyn "Griff" Griffiths holds a B.A. in politics from Bates College and expects to receive her M.A. in adventure education from Prescott College in the summer of 2016. She has over five years of experience in outdoor/wilderness education with middle and high school students.

Elisa Antonuccio

Spanish Specialist

Elisa received her Law degree from Central University of Venezuela. She also has a Masters degree in Applied Linguistics from University of Massachusetts. Prior to coming to Thacher she taught Spanish in several schools in the south shore. She is a Thacher parent who loves reading, dancing and exercising.

Renay Bane

Art Specialist

Renay has six years of Montessori classroom experience, starting in an elementary classroom at Bay Farm Montessori and then as a Children's House lead guide at The Inly School. Renay did Montessori training at the Northeast Montessori Institute, and she holds a B.A. in fine arts from Bridgewater State University. When not painting and sculpting, Renay can be found on outdoor adventures with her family and her dog Briggs.

Laura Caso-Manning

Spanish Specialist

Laura grew up in Buenos Aires Argentina where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Educational Phycology. She has taught Spanish to the KEDS pre-school program and High School in Milton and at Elizabeth Seton Academy in Dorchester. She also worked as a training specialist at the Social Security Administration. Laura enjoys spending time with her young adult daughters, family and friends. She also enjoys playing guitar, bicycling, kayaking and the outdoors.

Sally Fitzgerald

Math and Science Specialist

Sally received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of New Hampshire, attended graduate courses in education at New York University and San Francisco State, and has a Massachusetts teaching certificate. She is starting her ninth year at Thacher. Prior to coming to Thacher Sally worked at Sacred Heart High School, Dana Hall, and Eliot Montessori. She likes to garden, hike, run, camp, and read.

Victor McSurely

Music Specialist

Victor left a full-time position as a musician with Boston's Blue Man Group to teach at Thacher. During that time Victor also facilitated the Guitar Circle New England. He was an active participant in Robert Fripp's Guitar Craft school where he received much of his music training (he is the only authorized instructor of this work in New England). He studied Voice privately with Berklee College of Music professor Charlie Sorrento and studied Rhythm with well known Jazz drummer Bob Moses. He is certified by Musik Garten to teach music to young children and has been trained in the Montessori Music Curriculum as assembled by Anna Maria Maccheroni. He is an enthusiast of analog recording, taiko drumming and enjoys improvisational guitar work in various ensembles.

Todd is a graduate of Springfield College where he studied Physical Education and Sports Journalism. Among many other hobbies, Todd loves basketball and music collecting. He is also an active participant in his community.

Michal joined the Thacher community in the summer of 2015. She holds a BFA from the University of Michigan and an MLS from Simmons College. Michal has worked in school libraries with students in elementary school through college. She is continually inspired and awed by nature.

Sam grew up in an in-home childcare program run by her Mother. She graduated from Blue Hills Regional Vocational Technical High School. Sam earned her Assistant Preschool Teacher Certificate and worked for several years with preschoolers and kindergartners. She is pursuing her college education in education through online classes.

Cicely Docket

Aftercare Assistant

Cicely has extensive experience as an administrative assistant at Brigham and Women’s and Massachusetts General Hospital. She has also recently worked with the Read to a Child program at Boston Renaissance School. Cicely is a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School in Queens, NY. She served as a substitute in several classes last year at Thacher.

Anne-Marie Dubeau

Elementary/AP Aftercare Coordinator

Anne-Marie has a Bachelors Degree in Art Education from University of Massachusetts. She has tutored children from elementary school through college for over 20 years as well as adults preparing for the GED. Anne-Marie enjoys reading and healthy baking. She also loves to travel, talk long walks, star-gaze and share her love of nature with her son and daughter.

Chelsea LeClair

Admissions Assistant

Chelsea obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University. In addition to working in the admissions office at Thacher, she works as an after school teacher at Fayerweather Street School in Cambridge, MA. Her past experiences include event coordinating at several nonprofit organizations and working as a preschool teacher. Chelsea enjoys traveling, volunteering, spending her summers on Cape Cod and time with her friends and family.

Kelley Lynch

Academic Support Services

Kelley is starting her first year at Thacher working as the Academic Support Specialist. Prior to Thacher, Kelley worked in a variety of elementary schools throughout the greater Boston area. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus in English and Elementary Education from Merrimack College, acquired a Masters in Education in Curriculum and Teacher from Fitchburg State College, and completed a professional licensure program for Moderate Special Needs through Simmons College. Kelley has a Massachusetts teaching license in Elementary and Moderate Special Needs Education. Kelley's interests along side teaching include music, dance, theater, cooking and traveling. She is a true animal lover and is committed to being a loving auntie to her 2 nieces and nephew.

Steve Genchauskas

Facilities Manager

Steve graduated from New England Labors Academy and was an executive chef in California for 10 years. After returning to New England he worked for Bickfords Family restaurants for 24 years. Steve lives on the Cape with his large family on a small farm. He enjoys shell fishing and handyman repair work.

Kervin Germain

Aftercare Receptionist

Kervin brings a wealth of experience in theater arts and arts education to Thacher. He has worked with diverse groups of students and has developed a passion for youth education. Currently, Kervin is an undergraduate, majoring in Theatre at UMASS Boston. He received his A.A. in Theatre from Bunker Hill Community College and his secondary education at Boston Arts Academy and New England Conservatory.

Marshelle Mitchell

Toddler/CH Aftercare Coordinator

Marshelle has 25 years of experience in family services and the corporate world. Most recently, she has served as a dental assistant for Quincy Adam Dental Associates (Quincy, MA) and a dental assistant intern a Upham’s Corner Community Health Center (Boston). Marshelle has a dental assisting certificate from the Boston Career Institute. Over the last four years, Marshelle has also been a valued substitute at Thacher in the classroom and in the after care program.

Estuardo Sandoval

Facilities Assistant

Estuardo has a strong background in facilities and maintenance work. He is originally from Guatemala and is studying theology at the Pastoral Center in Braintree to become a minister. He lives in Randolph with his family.

Margaret Ward

Aftercare Assistant

Margaret (Meg) Ward was born and raised in Arlington, VA and graduated in the spring of 2016 from the University of Mary Washington. She moved up to Massachusetts during the following summer and started at Thacher in August. Meg has experience in both general and special education programs in Washington D.C., Virginia, and San Francisco. She has always loved working in education and plans to head back to graduate school for her masters in education in the fall of 2017. Meg enjoys the outdoors, baking, music, volunteering, and spending time with family and friends.

Board of Trustees

Christian Atwood, Esq.

Member of the Board

Christian joined the Thacher Board of Trustees in 2013. He has served as the chair of the board’s development committee. Christian is a partner at the law firm of Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP in Boston, where he spends most of his time structuring, negotiating and documenting complex transactions, frequently for private equity funds. He is a graduate of Fairfield College Preparatory School, Dartmouth College, and the University of Virginia School of Law. He lives in Wellesley with his wife Susan (a proud alumna of Ruffing Montessori in Cleveland, Ohio), and their children Griffin (CHB), Sawyer (CHA) and Dashiell (not yet old enough to attend Thacher). Christian, Susan, Griffin, Sawyer and Dash enjoy doing most anything, so long as they get to do it together, but especially enjoy spending time on Cape Cod, visiting the zoo (any zoo!), and hanging out with their extended family in Providence, RI (where the boys’ cousins are enrolled at The Ocean State Montessori School).

Joanne Baggerly

Member of the Board

Joanne has over thirty years of experience as a health services administrator. Most recently, she served as the senior manager for population health and wellness/health programs for Tufts Health Plan. She is an experienced clinician with strengths in clinical rehabilitation, education, and managed care settings. Joanne holds a B.S. in nursing and also an M.S. in rehabilitation and neuroscience nursing from the Boston University School of Nursing as well as a PhD in nursing from the University of Rhode Island. Joanne’s interests include walking, Reiki, health coaching, and reading. She has closely observed the benefits of a Thacher education for students and families for 13 years.

James Da Costa

Member of the Board

Jim holds a BS in mathematics from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth and an MBA in finance and computer science from Boston College. He has extensive corporate finance experience in the acquisition and divestiture of U.S. and European healthcare and industrial companies, and is currently Vice President, Corporate Development, at Analogic Corporation in Peabody, MA.

Deirdre Eschauzier

Member of the Board

Deirdre has served in a variety of volunteer leadership roles at Thacher, including president of the Thacher Parents Association (TPA) in 2013-14 and co-chair of outstanding Thacher auctions in 2014 and 2015. In 2015-16, Deirdre will be serving as the volunteer assistant to director of admissions Deba Palma, coordinating our efforts to enlist other parents in promoting the school through open houses, other events, and word of mouth. Deirdre has a B.A. in international relations/studio art from Connecticut College and an M.A. in critical and creative thinking/higher education administration from the University of Massachusetts Boston. She has seven years of administrative experience in student services at the college and university level. Most recently, she has served as the regional sales director for Mary Kay Cosmetics. Deirdre and her husband, Chase, have three children at Thacher: Sidra (an AP student) and Leo and Lucky (upper elementary students).

Judy Farley McFatter

Member of the Board

Judy joined the Thacher Board of Trustees in 2013. She has served as chair of the board’s governance committee. Judy received her undergraduate degree in nursing from Curry College and a Master of Science in nursing and care of children from The University of Pennsylvania and attended Georgetown University for bioethics. She loves being a nurse and has worked at Boston Children’s Hospital for over 30 years in various positions including clinical nurse specialist in neuroscience, director of nursing, and now human rights officer. She is an active member of Boston Children’s Hospital ethics advisory committee. Judy lives in Canton with her husband Russ and their children James, Marc and Kyle. James is a freshman at Wheaton College and a proud Thacher graduate (class of 2010), having attended Thacher from LEB through AP. Marc is a junior at The Newman School in Boston, and he is also a proud Thacher graduate (class of 2012), having attended Thacher from CH through AP. Kyle is in his ninth year at Thacher and is an enthusiastic student in our Adolescent Program. Judy enjoys spending time with her “guys”, and together they love to play board games, vacation on Cape Cod, ski, and take long walks with their dog Kronos.

Thom Greenlaw

Member of the Board

Thom holds a B.A. in organizational behavior from Lesley University (MA) and an M.A. in higher education administration from Boston College (MA). He has served over twenty years in varying senior roles in independent schools, including finance and development. As the chief operating officer of Ethel Walker School, Thom raised over $20 million in two years. Prior to his service at EWS he served as assistant head for operations/ CFO at the Buckingham Browne & Nichols School and business manager at the Dana Hall School. Thom served for four years as chair of the board of trustees at Summit Montessori School in Framingham, MA and as a board member of the National Business Officers Association (NBOA). Thom is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences. He recently authored the day school sustainability model for the National Business Officers Association, which serves 1000 member schools.

Joe Pereira

Member of the Board

Joseph Pereira is a proud parent of a Thacher alumnus; an award-winning journalist who worked for more than two decades at The Wall Street Journal; an educator; and a firm believer in the Montessori system of harnessing a child's innate talents and interests.

Anadi Risal

Chair

Anadi Risal is the current chair of the Thacher Board of Trustees, beginning last June. He served on the Thacher Board of Trustees for three years and served as the vice chair for one year. Anadi has been with Deerwalk, Inc. as their vice president of client services since 2011. He consults with various clients in the area of technology and healthcare. Anadi has twenty years of consulting and business development experience in data analytics and systems development. Recently, he was vice president of Enterprise Analytics Practice for Cognizant Technology Services, influencing a $50 Million revenue stream. Previously he has worked for Oracle, ProfitLogic, Manugistics, Starwood Hotels and Sabre Decision Technologies. He is a patented author of a simulation system. Anadi obtained his BA with honors, summa cum laude, from Ohio Wesleyan University and an MS in computer science (with optimization focus) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In his free time, he likes to run, hike, play tennis and racquetball. He lives with his wife, Liliana, and son, Sagar, and daughter, Ilisa. They both are students at Thacher Montessori.

Paul Hutchinson

Member of the Board

Paul joined the Thacher Board of Trustees in 2016. He has been a member of the finance committee since 2015, has recently become the chair of the buildings and grounds committee, and has also volunteered at the school in several ways over the prior years. Paul received his Electrical Engineering BS Degree from Northeastern University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2004. He is currently the general manager of a large electrical distribution company and has 25 years of experience in business management. Paul lives in Milton with his wife Gail and his daughter Julia. Julia is currently in the Adolescent Program at Thacher; she is entering her 8th year at the school and will be graduating in 2017. Paul enjoys vacationing with his family, and is an avid skier and golfer.

Joy Tardiff

Member of the Board

Joy ended a 13-year tenure as a Thacher staff member on June 30, 2015 serving as assistant head for the last four years and providing invaluable service to the school in buildings and grounds, marketing and enrollment, personnel, staff searches, health and safety, operations, and leadership transition. Joy has a B.S. in biology from Yale College (CT) and an M.D. from the Northwestern University Medical School (IL). Prior to working at Thacher, Joy was a practicing pediatrician for five years. Joy and her husband, Richard, are parents of two Thacher alumni: (’09), a senior at Williams College (MA) and Dan (’12), a freshman at Brown University.
