Elementary/Middle School Summer Program

 

Dates Details
Drama (week 1)
Children will rehearse a play, create props and sets, and act in the final production. Participation in all three weeks is encouraged but not mandatory. However, the play will be performed in the third week.

Music (entering 4th grade and up) (week 1)
Children will participate in group activities that focus on the fundamentals of music. They will learn music appropriate to their abilities by engaging in small, mixed-age ensembles. Students will learn to play one or more songs and perform at the end of the week.

S.T.E.M.
In S.T.E.M. camp, students will become engineers as we dive into fun hands-on S.T.E.M. challenges and activities, including the egg drop challenge, building roller coasters from recyclable materials, making ice cream in a bag, and more!
Pottery & Sculpting
Learn how to create ceramics from clay. Children will hand build or use the pottery wheel to create unique pieces. Bring a swimsuit or change of clothes for water games in the afternoon!
Painting
Campers will paint with acrylic, tempera, and watercolors while exploring painting from still life objects and photos.
Lower Elementary Academics and Enrichment | CH rising students/current 1st and 2nd year LE students
An academic program for current Thacher students rising from CH to LE and first/second years currently in Lower Elementary. Bridget McConville will teach this program designed to be a fun-filled exploration in all subject areas in the Lower Elementary environment while also experiencing fun exploration with nature and science. This program offers academic support and exposure for new elementary students and current elementary students to the different materials and concepts found in the Lower Elementary Environment.
