Building the Future at Thacher

Supporting the Thacher Annual Fund helps our school improve the educational caliber and scope of your child’s Montessori experience. The Thacher Annual Fund provides teachers with professional development, enhances classroom resources, and bolsters financial aid. These contributions are vital to improving every child’s education.

Support the Thacher Annual Fund

  • Tax-deductible cash contributions are vital to the Thacher Annual Fund. Checks should be made payable to Thacher Montessori School and may be dropped off at the Front Office or sent directly to:

    Development Office
    Thacher Montessori School
    1425 Blue Hill Avenue
    Milton, MA 02186

  • You may also charge your gift using your credit/debit card or Paypal. Find our convenient and secure online giving form here.

  • We also welcome contribution pledges. Thacher Annual Fund pledges are payable by June 30th.

  • Your gift of appreciated securities extends for more than one year. It may provide a more significant tax advantage than a gift of cash. You avoid capital gains tax and receive a tax deduction for the stock’s fair market value. Once you donate, we will value your securities at the average trading price on the day that your gift transfers to Thacher.

  • Many companies will match or multiply donations from their employees. In some cases, this can be an employees’ spouse. Please contact your employer’s personnel office to determine whether your company participates in a matching gift program and to request the necessary forms.

  • Contributions of tangible personal property may offer you an immediate tax deduction. The amount of deduction depends on whether the gift relates directly to Thacher’s educational activities and purposes. All gifts-in-kind to the school will be credited according to the appraised value provided by the donor (or fair market value when there is no estimated value provided.) Gifts-in-kind include donations of art, equipment, rare books, real estate, and similar non-monetary contributions. Thacher reserves the right to review the condition of the gift before accepting it.

  • Donors may find they can make a more substantial contribution through a deferred gift. Usually, deferred gifts are trust funds that generate income paid to the donor during his or her lifetime, with the principal going to the school after the donor’s death. Donors receive full tax benefits for these contributions. Bequests that are realized and consistent with the school’s goals will be counted in the fiscal year in which they are given.

  • To remember an individual who has passed away or in honor of someone special, please consider making a memorial or honorary gift.
